Robin calls it a year
9 October 2007
Soderling still suffers from the wrist injury, which prevented him from playing the second half of the year. Although he's still avoiding surgery, he's unable to play and will not do so competitively for the rest of the season.
He'll lose 175 ranking points as a result and will likely go outside of the top 45 of the world in the beginning of the next season

Out of the Davis Cup team
17 September 2007
Robin was not announced as a member of the Swedish Davis Cup team in the home encounter with USA in Gothenburg.
His wrist injury is not healed yet and he wears a plaster on the left wrist. He paid a visit to a French doctor, who helped similar injuries of Mardy Fish (who was forced to surgery) and David Nalbandian. It was decided that the Swede does not require surgery for now.
Apart for being unable to play his double-handed backhand, Robin's game is on top level and he even won a set 7-5 off Pim-Pim Johansson at a training match. But a tour comeback without a descent backhand is not an option for Robin and he'll miss at least the Davis Cup.

Robin to sit out the US Open
22 August 2007
After missing the entire hardcourt summer, Robin will sit-out the US Open as well. The left wrist injury is still bothering him and he cannot hit his double-handed backhand.
"We have gone many doctors and nobody can give replies. It is nothing visible on the X-ray plates, so we do not know what that is wrong" Peter Carlsson tells for Swedish News Agency.
Apparently nothing has improved since the match with Safin two weeks ago.
Still Peter Carlsson did not ruled out a comeback on 21 September against USA in the Davis Cup.
On the schedule for Robin for the autumn are also the Thailand Open, the Stockholm Open and the two remaining Masters Series events.

A loss after four hours and three days on court
05 July 2007
On Wednesday, Robin and Rafael took on Court 1 for the third successive day (if we don't count their warm-up on Saturday). This time Nadal was more focused off the mark than usual. Soderling got to another breakpoint though, but had no chance to take it. And after chances in two successive games (in different days though), he was punished for not taking them against a top opponent. Three unforced errors gave Nadal 15-40 lead (hence two matchpoints) at 5-6 and even though Soderling saved four matchpoints in this game (and five overall, with the one on Monday), he lost his serve and with it - the match.

And a third round against Nadal
28 June 2007
After a four set victory over the former
semifinalist Sebastien Grosjean,
Robin moved into the third round and will meet the second seed and last
year's finalist Rafael Nadal.
The Swede was broken only once in the match against Grosjean and was
cruising through the final two sets. But now Nadal will be a formidable
opponent as although still a mostly claycourt specialist, he has
a 11-3 record at Wimbledon and will be helped by the slowest ever courts.

Two sets lost from a break up
14 June 2007
Robin lost the second round match in Halle against Marcos
Baghdatis. After winning a tough tie-break in the opening set, he broke in the firs game of the next two sets, just to be broken twice afterwards, and to finally lose 1-2.
This raises a serious question for Robin as he has seven loses this year from being a set up (one of them is from 2-1) and this from a total of 13 losses overall. He loses more often after he wins the opening set, than after losing it!
