The 2004 was the year when Robin steady climbed up to the top players in the world. He played in his first season fully on the ATP tour and won his very first title in Lyon, after losing in one more final. In the end he came just short of a top 30 place, finishing at number 33.
The 2005 was the first year, he was severely affected by injuries. His right knee was constantly bothering him, and even the second tournament win in Milan, didn't prevent the slip down the rankings. The two surgeries prevented him from playing some tournaments, and when he was playing, he didn't play at 100%. So the 77th place was the best he could manage.
Robin started 2006 playing a Challenger in Germany and dropped to 100 place in the ranking. But in the season he was healthy most of the time and managed a good climb, although he failed to impress at the Slams. But in the end of the year, he made many points and finished at career-high place of 25.
